The internationalism that BADA has fostered is part of its enduring legacy. It has offered a unique chance for the overseas student to get to work with a myriad of top rank international teachers of the English language tradition in environments which have been excellently conducive to that kind of study.
Sir Derek Jacobi
BADA was always an inspirational idea and wholly fulfilled its promises, and I am proud to have been part of its story! Its students are indeed fortunate to have access to the range and depth of its superb teaching.
Simon Callow CBE
From its origins as the British American Theatre Institute in Santa Fe New Mexico in 1982, BADA moved to London in 1983
There was no loss of faith from Tony Branch and Carolyn Sands, the British visionaries who had created the programme, whose extraordinary commitment and persuasiveness had put the whole thing together. They transferred the centre of operations back to Britain and kept the flame burning brightly thereafter. I came and taught at Oxford and a few times at Regents Park and found the same passion and openness and longing to nurture their art surging forth from these young people.
